Your wedding day
Weddings are always full of love, laughter, tears, and a mix of different personalities. They are great fun to be a part of and never a dull or boring affair. Each one tells its own story. Therefore, I don’t approach the day with any pre-conceived ideas or expectations of what I might capture.
I let your day dictate the images. I shoot real moments, with very little manipulation or staging. I like to step back, observe, and capture all the emotions of a wedding. This allows you to relax, be present with all your favourite people and enjoy the celebration.
I aim to blend in and shoot your weddings from a guests-eye point of view. I shoot in an unobtrusive way, allowing me to capture moments candidly. I won’t be the bossy supplier shouting across the room, herding guests like sheep or telling you where you need to be. That’s just not me.
Relaxed Portraits
The couples I work with are usually relaxed when it comes to their portraits. Being dragged away for an hour-long photo shoot where they are asked to perform awkward and unnatural poses is just not their thing. Mine neither. I’d rather go for a short walk with you both, at a point in your day when you won’t be missed for 15 to 20 minutes at the most. This gives you a chance to hold hands and relax in each other’s company, whilst we explore your venue. The extent of my direction will be where to walk or stand. No cheese, no complicated poses, just relaxed and natural photos of you both before getting you back to your favourite people.
Group Photographs
Talking of your favourite people – it’s totally worth taking the time to capture some group photos with your close friends and family. These are the photos that please the grandparents and are passed down generations in your family. However, it is worth noting that a long list of these will take some time to organise, will leave you both with a sore face from all the smiling and reduce the time available to capture more creative and candid shots of the day. I would usually recommend keeping it to the VIPs – bridal party, parents, and immediate family. This way, everyone can return to the canapes and drinks quickly and get on with the celebration.
