Investment

Weddings are such special days. You'll likely wake up in a bit of a blur the next morning and want to relive it. Your photos are an investment that increases in value over time, something that you can look back at years down the line to remind you of the love, laughter and happiness you felt. It's so important to book a photographer who can tell your story whilst allowing you to enjoy every moment of your day. I understand that choosing a wedding photographer can be a complicated process, so I've tried to keep things as simple as possible.

What are you investing in?

Beautiful images

High quality images that tell the real story of your day from a guests-eye point of view. Relax and let me candidly capture all the best parts of your wedding day. From the bridal preparations to the dance moves. It's so easy to get beautiful images when you are left to enjoy every moment.

Unique storytelling

I like to tell the unique and authentic story of your wedding through real and honest photography. Always on the search for good light and moments that could easily have gone unseen. In a time of filtered, AI generated perfection, let me tell your true love story. The one that means the most to you.

Relaxed approach

I shoot in a relaxed and unobtrusive way. You won't catch me shouting across the room at your guests or telling you where you need to be. I am there to capture your day, as you intended it to happen. That being said, I'm always happy to help out in any way I can and will be warm and pleasant to all your favourite people.

Total commitment

It's a big deal for me when you book me to capture your wedding. I only take on a limited amount of weddings each year so I can provide each one with absolute commitment. Pre-wedding communications, venue research and visits, information gathering. My aim is to provide you with the best of services.

Full coverage

I want to tell the full story of your wedding day. I won't be disappearing straight after your first dance. I love capturing all the dance floor craziness! Some of the most creative, candid and real moments take place later in the evening when everyone has let their hair down. Why would I want to miss that?!

Individually edited

Each image included in your gallery will be individually edited by me. I don't outsource my editing or use AI generated software for this. I want to hand pick the best moments from your day and give each image the time and attention it deserves.

Online Gallery

You'll receive your images through a personal, password protected online gallery. You have complete control over the gallery and can share it with your guests. You have the option to view your images as a slideshow, download in high resolution or order prints directly. You'll have access to your gallery for one year, but can extend this for a small annual fee.

FAQ

How do we book?

If you complete the contact form with details of your date and venue I will get back in touch as soon as I can. If I'm available on your date we can meet up or have a quick call to get to know each other. If you're happy to go ahead I would require a signed contract and payment of a non-refundable £150 booking fee to secure your date. Full payment is then due 14 days prior to your wedding.

Will we hear from you much after booking?

I'm always available for any question you have but usually once booked you won't hear much from me until around 1 month before the big day. I will send over a questionnaire to gather all the important details and arrange to have a quick video meeting. There might be a few more communications back and forward to finalise things but I won't take up much of your head space, as I know you'll have plenty of other things to be thinking about.

How would you describe your style?

You can read all about my approach and style on the dedicated page, but put simply - I shoot in a relaxed, unobtrusive way and focus on capturing real emotions and moments as they naturally happen, rather than staging things. I offer gentle direction when taking portraits but don't over pose. I want my images to tell the true and authentic story of your day, whilst leaving you to relax and enjoy the celebration!

What does a candid photographer take photos of?

Love, laughter, tears, hugs and all forms of human emotion and connection. I focus on capturing moments as they unfold naturally, without interruption or intervention. I tell the real story of your day from a guests-eye point of view.

You shoot candidly, do you still do group photos and couples portraits?

Yes, I do. I talk more about this on my approach page, but would recommend keeping your formal group shots to your VIPs, meaning it won't take up a large portion of your day. Similarly, your couples portraits will be a short, 15-20 minute wander around the venue, at a time you won't be missed. I don't over pose. Just some guidance on where to walk or stand and a few pointers here and there. Relaxed, natural images then back to the party!

Do you work from a shot list or timeline?

No, I like to capture your day as it unfolds naturally, in the way that you intended for it to. I do not impose myself on your day. I will ask for a short list of the group photos that you would like and get the best man or ushers to support with this. Other than that, I will step back and observe to capture the best moments of your day.

How will you edit the images?

My editing style is in line with my shooting style, so I aim to deliver an image that is natural and true to your wedding day. I will perform light enhancements to images in the form of cropping, straightening and colour correction to best enhance the image, but do not make major changes to the RAW files that I shoot on the day and tend not to add in or remove anything from images.

When will we see the photos?

I'll get around 30 preview images to you within 3 days. The full gallery will be delivered within 8 weeks, during busy periods. However, I will try to deliver sooner than that, where possible.

How many images do we get?

I don't like to provide a specific number as each wedding is totally different and factors such as the venue, guests, entertainment and the weather will all influence this. Please see package information for a rough estimate.

Can we order prints?

Yes, your online gallery is linked to a UK based print shop who specialise in delivering high quality, professional prints. A couple of clicks from your gallery, add in a few personal details and you're done.

Can I see an example of a full wedding gallery?

Of course, if you'd like to see some example full galleries please get in touch and I can forward them on to you.

How far will you travel?

All my packages include travel within Scotland. However, if your wedding is more than 3 hours from Edinburgh I might need to add on an accommodation cost for the night before.

Do we need a second photographer?

No, but for larger weddings a second photographer will ensure that more candid guests shots are captured and they can provide additional angles during the ceremony that I wouldn't be able to capture on my own. They can also provide coverage of morning preparations that are in different locations.

Do you offer wedding videography?

Not at the moment, however I know some great videographers who come highly recommended that would be delighted to hear from you. Just ask and I can pass on their details.

Are you insured?

Yes, I have public liability and professional indemnity insurance.

What kit do you use?

I shoot with two Sony mirrorless camera bodies and use a variety of zoom and prime lenses. I have a third back up camera body available on all wedding days.
